ศูนย์สุขภาพจิตที่ 12 เป็นศูนย์วิชาการ สังกัดกรมสุขภาพจิต กระทรวงสาธารณสุข เป็นองค์กรหลักด้านสุขภาพจิต เพื่อประชาชนมีสุขภาพจิตดีมีความสุข มีภารกิจหลักในการศึกษาวิเคราะห์วิจัยและพัฒนาถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้และเทคโนโลยีด้านการส่งเสริมสุขภาพจิตและป้องกันปัญหาสุขภาพจิตรวมทั้งบริการสุขภาพจิตและจิตเวชพัฒนาและสนับสนุนให้เกิดกระบวนการมีส่วนร่วมของเครือข่ายในการดูแลสุขภาพจิตของประชาชนในทุกกลุ่มวัยทั้งในภาวะปกติและสถานการณ์วิกฤต ตลอดจนนิเทศติดตามผลการปฏิบัติงานด้านสุขภาพจิตของเครือข่ายในพื้นที่ 7 จังหวัดภาคใต้ตอนล่าง เขตสุขภาพที่ 12 การดําเนินงานในรอบปีงบประมาณ 2564 ศูนย์สุขภาพจิตที่ 12 มุ่งเน้นสร้างการมีส่วนร่วมเพื่อให้ประชาชนในทุกกลุ่มวัยสามารถดูแลสุขภาพจิตของตนเองสนับสนุนการพัฒนาระบบบริการสุขภาพจิตครอบคลุมทุกมิติในทุกระดับ และพัฒนากลไกการดําเนินงานสุขภาพจิต
เพื่อกําหนดทิศทางด้านสุขภาพจิต จัดให้มีการส่งเสริมความรอบรู้และพัฒนาพฤติกรรมสุขภาพจิตที่พึงประสงค์แก่ประชาชน รวมถึงดูแลกลุ่มผู้พิการ กลุ่มผู้ได้รับผลกระทบจากภัยพิบัติจากธรรมชาติและภัยพิบัติน้ํามือมนุษย์ โดยเน้นการประเมินภาวะสุขภาพจิต ให้การเยียวยาจิตใจและเตรียมความพร้อมรับมือกับภัยพิบัติต่าง ๆ การขับเคลื่อนงานเครือข่ายระบบสุขภาพอําเภอ เน้นการบูรณาการงานสุขภาพจิตสู่ระบบสุขภาพระดับอําเภอตามความต้องการ และบริบทของพื้นที่ โดยเชื่อมโยงการดําเนินงานสุขภาพจิตนอกระบบสาธารณสุขกับเครือข่ายสุขภาพอําเภอ เพื่อให้เกิดการมีส่วนร่วมของชุมชนในการค้นหาปัญหาสุขภาพจิตวางแผนแก้ไขปัญหา และบูรณาการการดําเนินงานสุขภาพจิตเพื่อการส่งเสริมป้องกัน บําบัดรักษา ฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพ ให้คลอบคลุมทุกกลุ่มวัย ทั้งสุขภาพกายและสุขภาพจิตจากสถานการณ์โรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรน่า 2019 (COVID-19) มีการระบาดในวงกว้างตั้งแต่เดือนมกราคม 2563ได้มีประกาศให้เป็นภาวะฉุกเฉินทางสาธารณสุขระหว่างประเทศและก้าวเข้าสู่ผลกระทบทางเศรษฐกิจ เกิดผลกระทบด้านปัญหาสุขภาพจิตที่ต้องเตรียมพร้อมรับมืออย่างเร่งด่วนศูนย์สุขภาพจิตที่ 12 ได้สร้างความตระหนักและความเข้าใจต่อปัญหาสุขภาพจิตดําเนินการสร้างภูมิคุ้มกันทางใจด้วย 4 วัคซีนใจที่ทําให้ชุมชนรู้สึกปลอดภัยรู้สึกสงบมีความหวังและไม่ตีตราผ่านศักยภาพและสายสัมพันธ์อันดีในชุมชนสนับสนุนให้เครือข่ายทุกภาคส่วนในเขตสุขภาพเตรียมความพร้อมรับมือกับภัยพิบัติเพื่อให้ประชาชนมีความเข้มแข็งทางใจมีความรู้สามารถเข้าถึงเข้าใจข้อมูลข่าวสารทางสุขภาพจิตและบริการทางสุขภาพจิตรวมถึงสามารถปรับตัวเข้าสู่วิถีใหม่ได้
