กรมสุขภาพจิตสนับสนุนให้หน่วยงานในสังกัดและบุคลากรทุกระดับ ดำเนินการพัฒนาองค์ความรู้ โดยใช้เครื่องมือวิชาการพื้นฐานคือการจัดการความรู้ (Knowledge Management: KM) เพื่อให้ผู้ปฏิบัติงานมีความรู้ที่พร้อมใช้งาน สามารถเข้าถึงและนำความรู้นั้นไปใช้ได้อย่างทันท่วงที ใช้จัดการปัญหาหน้างานและบริหารจัดการทรัพยากรต่างๆได้อย่างคุ้มค่า คุ้มเวลา รวมถึงการพัฒนาต่อยอดให้เป็นผลงานวิชาการในระดับที่สูงขึ้นโดยพัฒนาเป็นนวัตกรรมและงานวิจัย
โดยมีกลยุทธผลักดันให้แต่ละหน่วยงานดำเนินงานจัดการความรู้ผ่านการประกวดผลงานการจัดการความรู้สุขภาพจิต (KMH TALK)ในเวทีระดับกรม เพื่อเป็นเวทีแลกเปลี่ยนและเผยแพร่ความรู้สุขภาพจิตบนช่องทางที่เข้าถึงง่าย เหมาะสมกับสถานการณ์ปัจจุบัน ทั้งนี้ได้มีการคัดเลือก กลั่นกรองคุณภาพผลงานโดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากทั้งในและนอกสังกัดกรมสุขภาพ จนกระทั่งได้ 5 ผลงานที่เป็น Best Practices การจัดการความรู้สุขภาพจิต ประจำปี 2568

การมอบรางวัลสมเด็จเจ้าฟ้ามหิดลแก่ผู้ทำประโยชน์ในวงการแพทย์และสาธารณสุขได้เริ่มมาตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2535 มูลนิธิรางวัลสมเด็จเจ้าฟ้ามหิดลฯ ได้เริ่มธรรมเนียมปฏิบัติให้ผู้ได้รับรางวัลมาบรรยายในหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง รวมถึงการบรรยายทางวิชาการให้ผู้บริหารและเจ้าหน้าที่ของหน่วยงานต่างๆ ที่สนใจ สำหรับปีนี้ กรมสุขภาพจิตได้รับมอบหมายให้เป็นตัวแทนในการจัดประชุมวิชาการขึ้นในวันที่ 28 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2568 ที่โรงพยาบาลศรีธัญญา เพื่อนำเสนอผลงานของผู้รับพระราชทานรางวัลสมเด็จเจ้าฟ้ามหิดลสาขาการสาธารณสุขประจำปี 2567 ซึ่งได้แก่ Professor Dr. Jonathan P. Shepherd ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันนวัตกรรมอาชญากรรมความปลอดภัย และความยุติธรรม มหาวิทยาลัยคาร์ดิฟฟ์ แคว้นเวลส์ สหราชอาณาจักร จากผลงานเรื่องคาร์ดิฟฟ์โมเดลเพื่อป้องกันเหตุความรุนแรง (Cardiff Model for Violence Prevention) สิ่งที่แตกต่างจากทุกปีคือได้มีการหารือกันระหว่างตัวแทนกรมสุขภาพจิต และมูลนิธิเครือข่ายฝึกอบรมระบาดวิทยาภาคสนามอาเชียน (ASEAN-Plus FETN Foundation) เห็นควรปรับรูปแบบการบรรยายเพื่อเพิ่มคุณค่าในโอกาสที่ได้พบกับผู้รับพระราชทานรางวัลฯ การเข้าใจเนื้อหาวิชาการนั้นสามารถศึกษาได้จากเอกสารผลงานตีพิมพ์ต่างๆ ที่เรียกว่าความรู้ที่ปรากฏ (extrinsic knowledge) ควรเพิ่มการเสวนาถึงแรงจูงใจและเบื้องหลังความสำเร็จที่ผู้ได้รับพระราชทานรางวัลฯ เก็บไว้ภายใน (intrinsic knowledge) และเติมเต็มด้วยการอภิปรายแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้การประยุกต์ใช้ใช้ในบริบทของประเทศ เมื่อทีมได้นำเรื่องนี้ปรึกษากับเลขาธิการมูลนิธิรางวัลสมเด็จเจ้าฟ้ามหิดลฯ และกระทรวงสาธารณสุข ทั้งสองฝ่ายต่างเห็นเหมาะสมและสนับสนุนให้ริเริ่ม หากรูปแบบประชุมนี้ได้ประโยชน์ก็จะดำเนินการในปีต่อๆ ไป หนังสือสรุปสาระสำคัญของการประชุมครั้งนี้มีเจตนาเพื่อเผยแพร่ผลงาน สร้างแรงบันดาลใจ และส่งเสริมการประยุกต์ใช้รูปแบบการป้องกันเหตุความรุนแรงให้เกิดประโยชน์กับสังคมไทย ตามพระราชดำรัสของสมเด็จเจ้าฟ้ามหิดลที่ว่า "ความสำเร็จที่แท้จริงอยู่ที่การประยุกต์ใช้ให้เกิดประโยชน์แก่มวลมนุษย์"
