เมื่อลูกทำผิด ควรลงโทษอย่างไร
หลายคนเวลาลูกทำสิ่งที่ไม่ถูกต้อง แต่พ่อแม่ไม่ลงโทษ เพราะอาจเห็นว่ายังเด็กอยู่ หรือบางคนก็ดุด่าลูกรุนแรง
วันนี้เพจสถาบันฯขอนำเสนอ วิธีทำโทษที่ทำให้ลูกคิดได้ด้วยตัวเองและไม่ทำร้ายจิตใจลูก
เด็กทำผิด มาจากหลายสาเหตุ เช่น ควบคุมอารมณ์และความต้องการตัวเองไม่ได้ การทำตามเพื่อน หรือทำความผิดเพราะกลัวถูกลงโทษ เป็นต้น
ฟังก่อนตัดสิน : ฟังเรื่องราว เมื่อลูกต้องการเล่าหรืออธิบายส่งที่เกิดขึ้น ขณะลูกเล่าให้ สังเกตสีหน้า ท่าทาง น้ำเสียง ว่าลูกรู้สึกอย่างไร มีเจตนาอย่างไร และแสดงให้ลูกเห็นว่า “เราเข้าใจความรู้สึกลูก” ด้วยคำพูดและการกระทำ ที่สะท้อนอารมณ์และความรู้สึกของเขา ลูกก็จะรู้สึกว่า “มีคนเข้าใจและพร้อมรับฟังเขาเสมอ”
ชวนคิดเหตุผล : เมื่อลูกได้เล่าระบายความรู้สึก อารมณ์สงบมากขึ้น ถึงตอนนี้แหละค่ะ ให้พ่อแม่บอกว่า “ลูกทำอะไรผิด …. พ่อกับแม่จึงต้องลงโทษ”
ลงโทษอย่างเข้าใจและไม่ใช้ความรุนแรง : เลือกวิธีการลงโทษที่ไม่สร้างบาดแผลในใจให้แก่ลูก ได้แก่
1. การตัดสิทธิ์ที่จะได้ทำในสิ่งที่ลูกชอบ เช่น เล่นเกม กินขนม หรืออดปั่นจักรยาน
2. หากความผิดนั้นเกิดจากการที่ลูกควบคุมอารมณ์ตนเองไม่ได้ ก็ควรให้หยุดพักจากการทำกิจกรรมนั้นๆทันที เพื่อให้ลูกสงบอารมณ์ตัวเอง โดยให้ลูกอยู่ใน “มุมสงบ”ที่ปลอดภัยและไม่มีสิ่งกระตุ้นเร้า
3. รับผิดชอบในความผิดของตนเอง โดยให้เด็กทำในสิ่งที่ไม่ชอบในปริมาณมาก แต่เป็นประโยชน์ เช่น ให้ล้างแก้วน้ำของทุกคนในบ้านเป็นเวลา 1 อาทิตย์ เพราะลูกลืมแก้วน้ำไว้ที่โรงเรียน เป็นต้น
4. พ่อแม่เพิกเฉย ในกรณีที่ลูกทำพฤติกรรมที่ไม่เหมาะสม เพื่อเรียกร้องความสนใจ โดยพฤติกรรมนั้นไม่รุนแรงและไม่เป็นอันตราย และควรให้คำชม เมื่อเด็กทำพฤติกรรมดีขึ้น
ชวนคิดแก้ปัญหา : “ครั้งหน้าเราจะทำอย่างไรดี? ” ชวนลูกคิดและหาวิธีแก้ปัญหา ว่าถ้าครั้งหน้าเกิดเหตุการณ์ที่อาจทำให้ลูกทำความผิดอีก เราจะใช้วิธีไหนดี โดยพ่อแม่ต้องฟังและคอยชี้แนะเหมือนเป็น “เพื่อนช่วยคิด”
การกระทำผิด เป็นเรื่องปกติของเด็กๆ แต่ผู้ใหญ่ควรมีวิธีสอนที่ถูก เพื่อให้เด็กรับรู้ให้ทางที่ถูก และไม่กระทำผิดอีก และไม่กระทบต่อจิตใจของเด็กในอนาคต จะช่วยให้ลูกน้อยเติมโตเป็นเด็กที่มีสุขภาพจิตที่ดี
